Alquézar
Located on the right bank of the Vero River, about 50 km from Huesca, is one of the most beautiful and charming villages in Spain.
At the top of the village of Alquezar, from the Arabic (Al Qasr, the fortress), stands the collegiate castle of Santa Maria la Mayor, a building with a lot of history that dates back to the ninth century and houses an interesting and elegant Romanesque cloister.
This place invites you to wander through the streets of the beautiful and labyrinthine medieval hamlet declared a Historic-Artistic Site.
Thanks to its privileged location, in an extraordinary landscape environment, Alquézar offers multiple options to enjoy nature and adventure sports such as horseback riding, hiking, caving, canyoning or climbing.
Finally, you cannot leave without tasting the first quality products of the region, such as lamb and pork meat, artisan cheeses and D.O. Somontano wines.
